Respiratory Care Students Pinned
Two students were recognized during the ceremony of fixing December 10 Respiratory Care held in the Southern Region of the Technical University (SRTC).
These students two semesters of prerequisite and four semesters course of rigorous professional courses, including a series of clinical rotations at local hospitals.
This ceremony marked the first graduating class of respiratory care SRTC.
"The faculty and administration of the program is incredibly proud of this class. After the merger with the Moultrie Technical College to form the Regional Technical College South again, these students represent the first graduates of the program of regional respiratory care class Southern Technical College. This is not only a momentous occasion for these graduates, but for the entire institution.
Most college merged provide interesting possibilities for future expansion of the respiratory care program, and will provide more students the opportunity to meet the growing demand for respiratory therapists who are available at local and national level, "said program director Tammy SRTC Respiratory Care Miller, MEd, RRT, CPFT.
Students were recognized Doris Engram Thomasville, Thomasville Dawn Wagner, Cassandra Dyer Albany LaShonda Thomas Thomasville, Valdosta Rachel Coleman, Alison Williams, Thomasville, Thomasville Kailee Reeves, Jordan Sellers Valdosta, Felisha Ray Miller City Yasmin Seay Quitman, kitchens Josh Pelham and Tony McCorkle Cairo.
Program graduates of science degree in applied associated respiratory care are eligible to take the certification exams through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) to obtain credentials respiratory therapist (RRT).
In addition to the RRT credential, graduates are eligible to take a series of certification tests including specialized neonatal pediatric specialist (NPS), intensive care specialist (CCS), the Technical Certificate lung function (CPFT) and registered pulmonary function technologist (RPFT ).
Several universities also offer advanced degrees in respiratory care at the bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees for RRT aimed at greater specialization in teaching, research and management.
