Grants totaling $580,000 to fund Massena telecommunications
Grants totaling $ 580,000 to finance Massena telecommunications, railways Newton Falls, Clarkson building rehabilitation
Nearly $ 580,000 in grants from the Regional Commission of Northern Border will help improve telecommunications in Massena, rehabilitate a railway line in Newton Falls and Star Lake, and rebuild the floor in a building Clarkson University Downtown.
The Commission has approved a grant of $ 111,000 for the village of Massena and partners to finance part of the modernization of the telecommunications infrastructure in the commercial area of the existing villa and the expansion of existing fiber networks to the Center of San Lorenzo, more regional center.
The Industrial Development Agency Saint-Laurent becomes a $ 234,155 grant to help rehabilitate a stretch of 46 miles of railroad in the former site of the paper mill in Newton Falls and Benson Mines / J & L Steel Star property Lake.
Clarkson University in Potsdam will receive $ 234.153 to renovate the floor of a building in the center of campus that will provide space for up to 15 new companies supported by Shipley Clarkson Innovation Center.
The announcement of this and other subsidies by Rep NBRC drew applause. Elise Stefanik, R-Willsboro, died at the announcement in an email release.
"This is great news for our community in the north and thank the NBRC to provide this important funding," Stefanik said. "These grants are great news for the north and I congratulate the NBRC for this ad."
The NBRC is a federal-state partnership whose mission is to help alleviate the economic distress and promote job creation in the private sector through the northern counties of Maine
